Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance

The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2008. Its mission is to promote economic vitality by maintaining a historic waterfront community that attracts diverse businesses and people through collaboration, outreach, and activities. The Alliance envisions a historic waterfront where businesses prosper and people connect.

As a Nationally Accredited Main Street Organization, active in the Washington State Main Street Program, the Alliance works to encourage economic development while preserving the area's historic character. They support local businesses within the Waterfront Business District, which includes areas along Harborview Drive and Judson Street, encompassing the Finholm District, Museum District, Millville, and Downtown.

The Alliance organizes numerous annual events and projects for the community, such as Walking Tours, Swig the Gig, the Waterfront Farmers Market, Chalk the Harbor, Trick or Treat in the Harbor, and Holiday Hayrides. These activities aim to create opportunities for engagement and socializing, supporting a welcoming district and celebrating Gig Harbor's unique heritage.

In 2024 alone, the Alliance supported 138 businesses in their district, held 10 events, provided 17 grants to small businesses, and saw over 41,000 attendees at their events. They also rely on a large network of volunteers and partners to achieve their goals for the downtown waterfront.
