Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum

The Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum is dedicated to preserving and flying rare, historic aircraft, focusing primarily on classic civilian planes from the 20th century, with an emphasis on the pre-WWII era. Located at 1108 26th Avenue Northwest in Gig Harbor, Washington, within the Tacoma Narrows Airport, the museum views aviation as a blend of both engineering and art. It aims to inspire future generations through hands-on education and immersive experiences.

Visitors can explore a collection of meticulously restored aircraft, many of which are flight-capable. Unlike traditional museums, the Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum allows guests to walk right up to its vintage planes, fostering a direct connection with aviation history. The collection includes notable aircraft such as the 1928 Mutual Blackbird, 1929 Alliance Argo, 1931 WACO INF, and a 1946 Piper J3. Standard tours are available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, with private and VIP guided tours offering behind-the-scenes access to the restoration facility.

Beyond its role as a museum, the 12,400-square-foot facility also functions as an event space. With 20-foot ceilings and polished concrete floors, it can host weddings, corporate gatherings, and fundraisers for up to 300 people. The hangar's large doors can open to allow events to flow outdoors, offering views of aircraft taking off and landing. The space provides amenities like an indoor/outdoor stage, projector screens, a surround sound system, and Wi-Fi, with vintage aircraft serving as a unique backdrop.

Founded by brothers Bob and Bill Juranich, the museum reflects their lifelong passion for aviation and their commitment to bringing aviation history to the public. Admission for standard tours is $10 for adults, $5 for active military and children aged 7-12, and free for children under 7. VIP guided tours are available for $50 each.
