Mavi Contempory Art

Mavi Contemporary Art, formerly situated on Harborview Drive in Gig Harbor, Washington, aimed to provide a platform for local and national artists. The gallery featured diverse artistic approaches, including abstraction, realism, and designed objects. Its mission was to bring art that might be unexpected in a harbor town to the community, with a focus on making homes more beautiful through art.

The physical location of Mavi Contemporary Art at 3126 Harborview Drive quietly closed its doors in late December of 2024. This decision was made by co-owners Liz Ashe and her mother, Mavi Ashe, following a significant health concern for Mavi Ashe.

While the Harborview Drive location is no longer open, there are plans for a new Mavi gallery to open around 2027 on Soundview Drive. The new space is envisioned to accommodate artist talks, partnerships with museums and arts centers, and potentially artist-in-residence programs, aiming to foster more intentional visitors and serious collectors.
