Tides Tavern

Located directly on the waterfront at 2925 Harborview Drive, Tides Tavern is a landmark in Gig Harbor, Washington. The building, originally constructed in 1910 as the West Side Mercantile, was transformed into Tides Tavern by Peter Stanley in 1973. For over 50 years, the Stanley family cultivated it into a community gathering place, recently transitioning to the Anthony's family of restaurants in 2026.

The menu emphasizes fresh Pacific Northwest seafood, including its well-known clam chowder, fish and chips, and diverse pizza and burger options. Seasonal specials such as Ahi Poke Nachos and Halibut Sliders are often available. Tides Tavern features a full bar, added in 2008, with a focus on regional craft beers, local spirits, and a selection of wines.

This tavern provides scenic views of Gig Harbor and, on clear days, Mount Rainier. It includes a dockside patio and offers free moorage at its private dock for patrons dining in or picking up to-go orders. While the main tavern is for guests 21 and over, dockside service is available for all ages during summer weekends. Tides Tavern operates Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM.
