Donkey Creek Park

Donkey Creek Park is a 1.3-acre natural area situated on North Harborview Drive in Gig Harbor, Washington. The park features a mown open area, benches, and restrooms, offering a peaceful setting for visitors. It is bordered by a salmon-bearing stream, which is a focal point of the park's natural appeal. Each fall, the park celebrates the return of salmon to Donkey Creek with an art installation called "Ringing in the Salmon."

A gravel trail extends from Donkey Creek Park under the bridge next to the Harbor History Museum, connecting to Austin Park at txʷaalqəł Estuary. This pathway allows for pleasant strolls along the creek and offers opportunities for salmon viewing, particularly chum salmon during their migration in late fall and early winter. A fish hatchery, consisting of remote salmon incubators, has been maintained by the Gig Harbor Commercial Fishermen's Civic Club since 1971, contributing to the creek's salmon population.

The park provides open green space for passive use and is part of the larger txʷaalqəł Conservation Area.
