Gig Harbor Sportsman Club

The Gig Harbor Sportsman Club, established in the mid-1930s and incorporated in 1947, is a volunteer-run facility located in Gig Harbor, Washington. It aims to provide a safe, enjoyable, and accessible environment for members and the community to participate in various shooting sports. The club emphasizes firearms safety, skill development, and conservation efforts.

The club features a range of facilities including a rifle and pistol range with six rifle lanes out to 100 yards and six pistol lanes to 25 yards. Its shotgun range offers seven standard trap fields with automatic machines and voice-activated target releases, alongside a five-stand sporting clays field with a duck tower. An archery range is also available for all skill levels.

Beyond the physical ranges, the club hosts various activities, including tournaments, competitions (some registered with Pacific International Trap Association), and social "fun shoots" with barbecues and potlucks. Training is provided by experienced volunteer members, covering safe firearms use and marksmanship. The club offers classes such as Pistol 101 and a Basic Handgun Safety Course. Ammunition and reloading supplies are available for purchase by members at reduced prices.

Membership options include individual and family plans, with new rates effective as of January 1, 2020. Lifetime memberships are also offered. The club welcomes various groups, including law enforcement, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Armed Women of America, supporting a broad community interest in shooting sports.
