McCormick Forest Park

McCormick Forest Park is a 110-acre natural area managed by PenMet Parks, located in Gig Harbor, Washington. The park is known for its old-growth Douglas fir trees, which cover approximately 50 acres of the property. Visitors can enjoy nearly four miles of diverse trails suitable for walking, biking, and horseback riding.

The trail system offers routes through the deep forest canopy and provides several viewpoints overlooking the McCormick Creek canyon. The park is home to abundant wildlife, including deer, coyotes, raccoons, river otters, and various migratory bird species. For convenience, picnic tables and portable restrooms are available on site.

Parking for McCormick Forest Park is provided in partnership with Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One, located across Bujacich Road from the main trailhead. All parks operated by PenMet Parks, including McCormick Forest Park, are open daily from 7 AM to dusk. Dogs are welcome on the trails but must remain on a leash.
