Destiny Harbor Tours

Destiny Harbor Tours provides an opportunity to experience Gig Harbor and the surrounding Puget Sound waterways from a unique perspective. Founded in 2007 by Captain Tom Drohan, the company operates authentic, restored U.S. Navy boats. These vessels, named "Destiny" and "Maritime," are USCG certified and can carry up to 33 passengers each. The tours aim to offer an up-close look at the area's natural beauty, wildlife, and rich maritime history.

Visitors can choose from various tours, including general sightseeing, eco-tours, and private charters. Common sights on their 2-hour trips include the Tacoma Narrows Bridges, Salmon Beach, Point Defiance, and views of Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. Wildlife often spotted includes seals, porpoises, bald eagles, and other birds.

Departing from Gig Harbor, tours leave from the bench area leading to the dock at Anthony's Restaurant on North Harborview Drive. Guests are advised to avoid parking in the restaurant's lots and instead use street parking or nearby public parking on Franklin Street. The captains, including Captain Tom and Captain Ethan, are known for providing informative commentary about the region's history, ecology, and geography. Destiny Harbor Tours also offers specialized services like memorials at sea.
