Route 16 Running and Walking

Route 16 Running and Walking, located on Kimball Drive, opened in March 2008. Owner Miguel Galeana, an NCAA All-American runner, started the business to serve Gig Harbor's running and walking community. He and his team emphasize individualized gait cycle analysis to help customers find properly fitted shoes.

The store offers a range of products from brands like Hoka, Brooks, New Balance, Mizuno, Saucony, and Asics. They also carry accessories from Balega, OS1ST, GU, Thorlo, Currex, Superfeet, Skins Compression, Pro-Tec, Oofos, SPI Belt, Safety Lite, Amphipod, Bodyglide, Shokz, and Rossignol.

Beyond retail, Route 16 Running and Walking serves as a community hub for active lifestyles. They are involved in consulting for and hosting local running and walking events such as Race For A Soldier, Galloping Gertie, and the Turkey Trot. The team also volunteers at expos, participates in education fairs, and supports local school fundraisers.

Their hours are Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 4 PM.
