Crescent Creek Park

Crescent Creek Park, spanning 10.89 acres, provides a variety of recreational features and a connection to Gig Harbor's history. Long-time residents may recall it as "City Park," as it was the first park within city limits. The site was originally home to the Crescent Valley School, built in 1915, and contributions from the Works Progress Administration in 1936-1937 shaped some of its early structures, including the restrooms, stone wall, and water fountain.

The park is well-equipped for family outings and active play. It features a Maritime PlayZone, an all-inclusive playground designed for various abilities, complete with a fishing vessel play structure, swings, and climbing elements. Sports enthusiasts can find a baseball field (reservable), tennis courts (with pickleball striping), a half-basketball court, and sand volleyball courts. A covered picnic shelter with barbecue grills is available for gatherings.

Beyond organized activities, Crescent Creek Park offers opportunities for nature appreciation. Crescent Creek runs through the park, providing chances for salmon viewing. The park also contains specimen trees, a native plant garden, and areas for short nature walks. Visitors can also see a carved wooden sculpture, rich with marine and wildlife imagery, created by artist Jeff Samudosky.

Open daily from 7:10 AM to 8:30 PM, the park includes restrooms and on-site parking for convenience. The Gig Harbor City Council adopted a master plan in January 2026 for future park improvements, focusing on ADA accessibility, preserving natural areas, and enhancing recreational structures.
